This morning in Alberta we woke up to a strange weather forecast...they were forecasting smoke, and they were right. Apparently a strong easterly wind pushed the smoke from the British Columbia forest fires over the Rocky Mountains and into Alberta while we were sleeping. The smell of the smoke was so strong that it was like there was a campfire right outside the front door. The smoke is now reaching all the way to Ontario and Maine!
My sunflowers are dying a lot more quickly than they were supposed to. I thought these orange ones looked like flames going down in all their glory. At least now they are a little more mood appropriate.
The majestic Kootenay mountain range of the Canadian Rockies is reflected in the Kootenay River flowing at their base near Fort Steele, British Columbia, Canada.
While out for a walk around the lake today, a Canadian Goose, while out on his stroll, decided to stop and see what I was doing before he continued out onto the golf course.
I played "crazy lady in the park" today...I actually laid down in the grass in the middle of the park to take this pic. In a small town like Lethbridge this definately drew a lot of attention...lol!
I've never seen anything as beautiful as this, I could just sit there all day and soak it all in. This is the Goddess in all her glory! What a beautiful country we live in! Now I remember why I moved out west. To see it all as it was meant to be...no concrete jungles and skyscrapers...just natural beauty.
I am a semi-professional wildlife and nature photographer, enjoying all that Canada, and Alberta in particular has to offer. Let me share my world with you.
