With all the solar flares and aurora borealis talk the past few days I’m not sure if this part of the phenomenon or something completely different but it was beautiful to see while driving home from work as the sun set. Taken along Highway 3 driving west from Coaldale to Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.

A shot of the full moon as it rose over the homes in North Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada.

March 8, 4:39 a.m. EST — Full Worm Moon. In this month, the ground softens and the earthworm casts reappear, inviting the return of the robins. The more northern tribes called this the Full Crow Moon, when the cawing of crows signals the end of winter, or the Full Crust Moon because the snow cover becomes crusted from thawing by day and freezing at night. The Full Sap Moon, marking the time to tap maple trees, is another variation.
